Alicea is an incredible head coach with a balanced coaching style. She expects a lot from you but is understanding of other factors and things you may be going through. She has a genuine passion for the sport and it is easy to tell from her demeanor every day. She gives incredible feedback in a way that is applicable on and off the water and has great relationships with all of her staff. As a walk-on herself, she also places a lot of emphasis on the history of the walk-on program and treats everyone the same, helping each athlete reach their potential and get what they want out of the sport in their time at the U.
