true Knows The Game Fitness Is Important Great Leader Passionate About Coaching Direct
One of the toughest coaches I've had in the best way. Never sugar coated anything and held the entire team to a high standard. The expectations were always clear and there was no grey area for unacceptable behavior. In our individual meeting it was clear where I stood with my team and the role I played, which at first was hard to hear, but I was provided ways to improve and also encouraged that regardless of starts and playing time every single role has value. He also taught me that there is more to life than just soccer and if I based all of my self worth in soccer critiques that life would be hard and less enjoyable. Learning that coaching points are never personal is something I had never experienced and throughout my club career I always struggled with. Since that meeting I found myself playing more freely and ultimately found more playing time because of it. I appreciate his willingness to have the honest conversation with me because I truly believe that is what made my last year of soccer so enjoyable.
