Kerry Smith is one of the most disappointing coaches I had throughout my swimming career. In my experience, she is manipulative, dishonest, and often seemed more focused on getting her way than on doing what was best for the team. I felt that her Coach of the Year recognition was heavily influenced by having two exceptionally talented athletes, rather than reflecting the overall quality of her coaching and leadership. There was also significant turnover among assistant coaches, which raised concerns about the program’s overall environment and leadership. She is disorganized and struggled to accept constructive feedback. she allows personal emotions to interfere too much with her coaching and professional responsibilities.
