"She doesn't even know your name if you're not in her event group- why is she a head coach? Take the time to learn about your athletes if you want to be trusted. She has no plan for the team. This is for the WOMEN'S TEAM too...but you can only select "men's""
"The worst coach out there. I don't even want to spend more time on this review than I have to, because I already wasted enough time with her in my life. Just horrible. "
"Overall I believe Coach Khayla did her best with the amount of athletes and her own personal circumstances. However, more open and honest communication needs to be had between her and her athletes. Transparency is key. There were times I needed constructive criticism and direction and there was little given. I understand we’re adults, but as a collegiate athlete, I don’t think we should be expected to come up with season game plans for ourselves. I honestly didn’t know how to attain the level of success I wanted for myself through my own individualized approach; therefore I believe coaches are present in order to put ideas on the table and the athlete is there to buy in and execute. I think in the future sitting down one on one with athletes and designing an individualized approach together is most beneficial, especially if an athlete expresses interest in doing so. Every athlete is different so whether that be one person does more reps, takes more meets off, or has a different lifting plan then I think it’s something that may have to be done to reach success.
On another note, Coach Khayla is very knowledgeable. I just didn’t always feel as if the ideas were ever done as repetitively as they should have been nor were they executed in an orderly manner throughout the season. If she learns to consistently implement ideas and training I think it will bring amazing outcomes. Lastly, I liked the competitive nature that Coach Khayla fostered and I think that healthy competition should always be brought out in practice because that’s to be expected in meets. "
"Coach Khayla is an extremely talented coach who does out her athletes success first. She is very direct and wants the same from her athletes. While others might have a hard time relating to her, because she’s so intense it’s very important for our sport for our coach to make the most/best out of us. We are pushing ourselves to our limits everyday and she brings the energy to revive athletes after a long day of practice and school. She cares very deeply about athletes past their performance, however very few actually go to her for the support. But as someone who has I would not recommend anyone else. Thank you coach Khayla for everything"
"I was definitely not a good athlete and only ran track because I was required to and because my friends were on the team. While I didnt take the sport seriously, khayla made me want to care more and do better— I knew that if I didnt try for her I wouldn’t be wasting only my time but hers, which is something I didnt want to do because I respected my coach as a person so much. Even though I was no where close to the fastest I still got individualized help and coaching from her although I knew she had a million and more important other things to do and people to help. She never made the less athletic people feel like they were less or not worth the effort. She is incredible funny, inspiring and honest. She expressed personal interest in my art, which whe didnt have to do since it was was not related to track. Track is not an easy sport but if I didnt have khaylas leadership it would have been even harder. I thank her for giving me one of my first and only positive experiences with a coach and team, a very formative experience that I am endlessly grateful for. "
"Khayla was the best coach I’ve ever had. She was an axceptional coach and simultaneously a great friend. Her workouts pushed me to the next level which allowed to me excel in ways the other coaches thought was impossible. No matter what she never gives up on an athlete who is putting in the work and trying to improve. While her workouts, especially “grind” days, may be tough, her motivation is next level. You will hear her from the other side of the track and it will be loud and clear. She is very direct while coaching and will say exactly what must be said, even if it is the ugliest of thruths. She keeps her athletes close and makes the “Spurdles” group feel like a tight knit family. You couldn’t possibly go wrong with Khayla."
"While she can be very tough on her athletes, sometimes to a fault. Coach Atte is one of the most knowledgeable and motivational coaches I have had the pleasure training and competing under "
"Coach Khayla brings her energy and passion to the table. She is detail-oriented and expects the best out of her athletes. At times she can lose touch with her athletes, but it is clear that she wants to be on the same page and reaches out. She's can be intense, but she knows what she's doing."
