"I played for alex campione for two years and is by far the worst coach i have had ever had. if i could give her 0 stars i would. she manipulates, lies and turns people love for the game into hatred. this program has made 21 girls either transfer or quit in just a few years. my mental health is one hundred times better since i stopped playing for her. if the administration doesn’t see a problem with this then they are just as bad. "

"Coach Alex Campione ruined the softball experience for many girls at Curry College, myself included. Her coaching style relies on fear, intimidation, and tearing players down instead of building them up. Over 20 girls have lost their love for the sport or left the program entirely because of the environment she created. What’s worse is that multiple players spoke up to the athletic department asking for help, yet nothing ever changed. The administration consistently chose to protect the coach instead of the athletes affected by her behavior. No player should leave a sport they once loved feeling defeated, anxious, and unheard."

"Coach Alex Campione has destroyed the experience of playing softball for many girls at Curry College, myself included. In only six years, more than 20 players have either left the program, lost their love for the sport, or struggled mentally because of the environment she created. Her coaching style is built around fear, humiliation, and making players uncomfortable instead of helping them grow as athletes or people. What’s even more frustrating is that players have repeatedly tried to speak up. At least a dozen girls have gone to the athletic department asking for help and trying to bring attention to what was happening, yet nothing ever changes. It feels like the administration would rather protect a coach than listen to the athletes being affected by her behavior. No athlete should leave college sports feeling emotionally drained, anxious, or pushed away from a game they once loved. But that is exactly what has happened to so many girls in this program. The people responsible for protecting student athletes have failed to do so, and players continue paying the price for it. On top of all of this, the program has consistently struggled competitively. There has been no real accountability for the losing culture or the impact this environment has had on athletes. Curry softball players deserved support, leadership, and respect, and many of us never received that. Protect yourself and your love of the game, and do not come here. I wish someone had told me that before it was too late. "

"I have had Coach Alex for years now and she has made me a better person and player. She does not just care about athletic performance but about you as a person. I have grown to love the game more than I did before because of the environment she creates. I have always admired the way the coaching staff outlines roles and structure through team mottos and themes. Any negativity that is written about the program usually stems from personal issues with playing time or individuals not liking their specific roles. The CNE is a very tough conference and Coach Alex puts out the best nine to compete while readily pulling from the bench when needed. Like on any other team people leave and Coach Alex has always handled those situations promptly and professionally despite the circumstances players put her in. Practices are a great mix of high reps and broken down skill sets in both hitting and fielding. She goes above and beyond by being available for office hours or individual hitting sessions whenever we need the extra work. Team culture is a priority and that is clear from the team camping trip to dinners at the coaches house. "

"I have been a current player for Coach Alex and her staff at Curry for a few years now. Coach Alex has been nothing but dedicated and supportive for all of her players. She cares about each person more than just themselves as an athlete. Coach Alex has elevated my game and experience at Curry. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't be the player or person I am. She has taught me countless lessons that I will take with me on and off the field. I have always felt valued and important as an athlete and a student. She has always worked with me when it came to injuries or school and always made efforts to get to know each and every player on the team. Coach Alex goes out of her way to build relationships with every player on the team and creates a family-like atmosphere where everyone feels included and supported. Her communication, organization, professionalism, and consistency set a strong example for all of us every single day. She leads with passion and dedication and it is clear how much she truly cares about the program and the people in it. "She has been a great coach to me! I have played for her the last few years here at Curry! As a player we should expect our coach to be tough on us and want us to get better everyday. That is how Coach Alex is, she is always making competitive practices and pushing us to be the best we can be. Our program has improved a lot these last few years and it starts from her. She pushes us to talk about our goals, values, and how we want our teammates and coaches to support us. I appreciate how she stay positive, push us to do our best, and support us both on and off the field. She is very personable and cares about your success not only on the field but in the classroom. Academics are just as important to her, she is always staying updated with everyones classes and how they are going. Coach Alex helped me build my confidence back and is always supporting us through the good times and bad. If you want a coach that supports you as a person and not just an athlete, who is always creating an environment where everyone feels valued and motivated, Curry would be a great fit!"

"Playing for Alex Campione was the worst part of my experience at Curry. From her first to current year as the coach, there has been an estimate of 19 players who have transferred or left the team. Administration has done nothing about this, even after many of current and past players have brought a multitude of issues to their attention. She is manipulative, a gaslighter, and inconsiderate human being. She fat shames, promotes unfair expectations for each player, cusses and throws equipment due to poor performance, creates an anxiety inducing environment with poor team culture and cannot take accountability for any of these actions. Coaching is the first aspect to having a competitive team, and unfortunately as long as she is the coach, that will never happen here at Curry. "

"Her record says it all. She’s been coaching for 10 years and has never had a winning team. Her overall record is 103-213. That’s a 33% winning percentage. The only reason she was able to get to 100 wins was because she was fortunate enough to have a girl J.R. who carried the team for four years on the mound and at the plate otherwise she would’ve been lucky to get fifty wins in her career. She brought in a new assistant this year, a former player who was as toxic as her. Gaslighted and bullied many players over her time at Curry mostly at Alex’s direction. One would hope that after six seasons of all the losing and drama that has occurred under her tenure that the Curry hierarchy would have enough sense to not bring her back for a seventh. "

"Based on my experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering this softball program to think twice before committing. The culture within the team felt deeply unhealthy, and many of the issues seemed rooted in both the team leadership and the head coach. Negative, toxic, and at times cruel behavior was allowed to continue without meaningful accountability, which created an environment that did not feel supportive or safe for players. A program’s culture starts at the top, and in my experience, the standards being set did not promote respect, growth, or team unity. For anyone looking for a positive and healthy college softball experience, I would strongly recommend exploring other options."

"I played for Alex and had such a horrible experience. For reference, some of the things she did was pin her players against each other in hopes to cause drama on the team, and get the girls that she didn't like off the team with somewhat of a reason so she didn't look bad. Told players all the time that they were fat, me included. Just to give you an idea, I am a 120-pound 5'0 girl who has also had an eating disorder in my past, that she was well aware of. She would use information that you gave her out of trust to use against you and make you feel stupid. After I quit the team, she tried convincing my other teammate who I was living with to move out and not speak to me as I " am a bad influence" I quit the team, I did not get kicked off nor did I ever have trouble with anyone on the team besides the coach herself. When you talk to other girls that used to play for Alex and quit, they say nothing but negative things. Sad that someone who didn't even play a whole full year of softball at Bryant wants to be a coach to ruin young woman's hobbies and pleasure. I played softball for 13 years, and that was all thrown out the window after playing for Alex. I hope when my kids play sports growing up, that they NEVER have a coach as bad and as abusive as Alex Campione. The staff at Curry College that keep her employed are to blame as well."
