"I entered college, loving the sport of lacrosse my entire life. Rain, sleet, snow - it didn’t matter. If I had the choice I would play lacrosse. AnneHarrington and her staff took that away from me. From a complete lack of respect for players to a dismissive attitude to any player who was not a starter. Then to a complete lack of compassion for or understanding of the mindset of a female athlete. Anne Harrington knew little about developing players or understanding, young female athletes. I would never recommend anyone trust their daughter to this coach. The disregard for physical ailments was a great concern. But more important, the disregard for mental well-being was inexcusable. I watched a teammate of mine, push herself to the point that she couldn’t get enough oxygen. She was seeing black. But she was so afraid to stop during the run that she pushed until she collapsed. After that, Coach Harrington said nothing. Did nothing. Even the training staff didn’t address it. It was humiliating for my teammate and frightening for the rest of us. For the next several weeks, I watched that teammate be punished with zero playing time, zero indies with the assistant coach, zero attention from any of the coaching staff, zero attention from the training staff. It was likeshe no longer existed. They just didn’t care. in their minds she had failed and they made that known to her. As a coach, she is the failure. People like to recognize the accolades of the team like A10 championships. But athletics should be more than that. And coaches should care about the women who work so hard to attain those things. Anne Harrington is not that kind of coach."
"She plays favorites which I guess coaches do. But she does it in such a way that you KNOW they don’t care about you I you aren’t their favorite player. It’s a great school so I’m happy to be here. But lacrosse has become the worst part. "
"Creates a negative environment for athletes that divides team. Complete disregard for the physical and mental well being of her athletes. Very negative culture that includes unequal expectations and treatment, shaming and massive favoritism. "
