"Needs to be better with communication and organizational skills. Also can be more respectful at times to the team and needs to know when certain things should and shouldn’t be said, but he still has some good moments outside of playing volleyball."
"The coach does not connect well with the players and often has a tendency to tell them what they want to hear instead of being honest and direct. Additionally, he has made some comments pertaining to race, physical build, etc. that have made some of the players uncomfortable, and I think the lack of ability to recognize this is problematic. "
"One of my biggest concerns with Coach Willis is a lack of organization and consistency in how the program is run. Expectations, communication, and decision-making often feel unclear, which can make it difficult for players to prepare and perform at their best. There have also been instances where his behavior and communication style have felt discouraging rather than supportive, creating an environment where players are hesitant to be honest about concerns or mistakes. Additionally, there is often a disconnect between what is said privately versus publicly, which can make it difficult to build trust and confidence in leadership. As a result, many players feel that their individual development and well-being are not always prioritized, and that decisions are not consistently made with the goal of putting athletes in the best position to succeed both on and off the court. Strong coaching requires organization, transparency, trust, and player advocacy, and these are areas where I believe the program could improve significantly."
"Cares about you on and off the court. Very personable. However, tends to focus only on the development of players who are intended to start instead of all players which makes it hard to get feedback and earn court time."
"He's a good coach who wants us all to succeed both on and off the court. He does tend to be very forgetful but that's something our team has learned to adjust too. "
