"I am on the womens cross country & track team and a huge part of the reason why I chose Dickinson was because of Coach Nichter. My experience so far has been good, however I will note that Coach is pretty old school. He expects you to constantly be at your best, no BS. I have had issues with him understanding/respecting mental health, burn out, etc...but as we've had a few incidents on our team already, I think he's starting to come to terms, and it's a work in progress for sure. He's incredibly knowledgeable, and if you are an easily "coachable" athlete, you will see exceptional results. I have never ran as fast as I have with Coach Nichter! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about what hes doing. If you are equally passionate about xc and/or track, you will love being on the team."

"Nichter is very kind and cares a lot about his team. He is a distance coach, however, so as a non-distance athlete there is occasionally some disconnect between the groups, but we have some great assistant coaches that we can always rely on to keep training and competition running smoothly. "
