Cares About Academics Old School Mentality
"Besides the 2018 season when the team won the CUSA championship, the program has continued to remain stagnant. Same coaching tactics has been used & they don’t always work with every team that comes through the program year after year. He’s had the tendency to allow outside influences to impact players’ playing time. He allows a parent/booster to come onto the field after every HOME game to have a nice, long conversation with him. He’s also allowed this same parent/booster to eat at the same restaurants with the team & the parent/booster would eat with the coaches while they’re all sitting at the same table (this took place at 1 place that we traveled to during the 2022 year (senior season)). The relationship between Breeden & the parent/booster has provided leverage to the parent/booster in terms of starting in the lineup even when that player is not producing offensively. This coach has had the tendency to remain complacent with the same 9-10 players that he always starts in the lineup but will not make timely changes when necessary to put the team in the best position to win. His coaching decisions are for the benefit of himself & his coaching position not for the benefit of the team. He has resorted to name calling his players as a unit when the team is not performing to his expectations; the words “dyslexic” & “re***d” were few of the words used. He will only coach certain players that he believes will bring success to the program; he’s given up on me & other players while turning his focus on other players that he deemed desirable to success. This reflected on my senior day when he pulled me after I struck out swinging at my 1st & ONLY CAREER at-bat. Turned out he & the other coaches had discussed pulling me before the game even started & it was on my senior day. As long as Breeden & Foti are coaching at that university, that culture & program will forever be toxic. The only compliment that I will give this man is he does hold everyone accountable in terms of their academic performance; I have no problem with whatsoever."
