"If you look at Joanie‘s record she has a 0.3 winning percentage. After a certain amount of years, do you know it’s not the players fault. Her pride gets the best of her and the players suffer. The assistant coaches are the only good thing about Villanova field hockey. She is past her prime and needs to step down if she truly cares about VUFH."
"I find the Joanie cares about her players academics and personally but has trouble relating to some players on the field. She has helped several of her players through personal challenges and is always there to help them in any way she can off the field. On the field, her coaching is more "old school" in nature. "
"I would recommend playing for vufh to anyone. Joanie is such an amazing person and is truly passionate about the girls on the team as well as the sport of field hockey. She would do anything for any one of the girls on the team and goes above and beyond. She has been making evident efforts and strides to build this program and I believe there is great potential. "

If you are a starter, expects you to do everything. Not a good coach and does not address mental health whatsoever "

"Actual worst coach I’ve ever had. Lies to you all the time and does not care about girls. Says she does but only cares about numbers of girls she has on team and who can score goals. Will hire coaches younger than her that are brand new so that she always has control. Has had multiple assistants over the last few years, goes through them fast. Toxic program and coaching style that needs to change in the future. Do not play FH at Villanova. "
"Joanie is a very personable coach so it is easy to talk with her one-on-one. She really values players that have a positive attitude and those who will work hard. She does not tolerate laziness so get ready to work during practice. Although she can be tough on you at times, it is only to make you better. She holds high expectations and expects you to meet them. Joanie is like a second-mom thoug... she wants to see you succeed and will be there for any issues that arise during your college career"
