"I had the pleasure of being coached by Coach Blackburn all my four year at Methodist. There aren't enough positive things I could say about this man. He continuously put the teams wants and needs above his own, he always let us have a say in practices, warm-ups, and even the conditioning drills we did. I have never met someone more dedicated to the concerns, thoughts, and feelings of his players. He was always accommodating when it came to class and academic conflicts, and genuinely had a personal interest in the well-being of all of his players. His knowledge extended far beyond the tennis court and he was an amazing mentor. I was lucky to have crossed paths with such an amazing coach."
"A coach should be motivational, supportive, able to deal with player conflicts, not create drama when there is none, help players improve, be fair, be respectful of his players, not tell you one thing then do the opposite, promote team cohesiveness. Blackburn is none of these and more. Go elsewhere to play. Lots of inconsistency in line ups despite player matches. Coaches his own team against each other when given the chance despite saying he never does this!"
"He's awful. He is not upfront about any decisions and does not care about what players think. He pits players against each other thus creating drama. The only thing he has knowledge about is how to make people quit and how to create drama."
"Blackburn is knowledgeable but is not a good coach. He creates drama, moves players around positions in doubles & singles, erratic decisions, coaches teammates against each other and has little to no player respect."
"Coach Blackburn was just added 2 years ago to the team. His first year there was quite brutal in terms of longevity of practices, lack of understanding concerning players needs, injuries, and personalities. But, the this past year was a total 180. He is easy to talk to, does his best to satisfy and understand all players, and is genuinely positive."
