"We had cherished unforgettable memories that I personally hold close playing under Coach Kara. Thank you for always believing in me! <33 good always wins. PS Coach is secretly a great singer ask her ;) bus rides for the win. "
"We are here to rally with our girl and sign off New York style. We don’t normally participate in things like this. As a parent of a 4 year player who has experienced Coach Kara’s leadership firsthand, I have to speak up after reading this. It is unsettling how the false statements from nameless folks are circulating. This must be a division 3 issue at a low level institution, because I have never seen such a thing IML! The statements here are UNSUPPORTED! There are no facts, no examples, and no accountability behind the posts — just harsh words from someone hiding behind anonymity. But, then again, they can hide online and say anything they want. I beg my daughter not to get into coaching. Too much evil.
Coach Kara has always led with integrity, real love, and witnessed care. She creates a positive yet challenging, and family-oriented environment where players grow as both athletes and people. The idea that she “creates drama” or “lies and manipulates” is completely inconsistent with the respectful, honest way she communicates with players and parents alike we experienced first hand. We have watched her endless work (please give yourself a break.) some problems aren’t meant to be solved, and these bad eggs needs to find a new hobby other than trolling. This is definitely not how things are handled in Long Island, we communicate, better believe that. Proven years of hard work, genuine relationships, and the incredible impact she’s had on so many student-athletes to show for. The real world doesn’t work this way. My only feedback is I wish she worked with the defense more because our defense had a hard time growing when it came to showing up for games. There’s my two cents. Anyways, those who actually know her and have seen her heart and good work know better. "
"The facts are the facts, and the facts are, Coach has a reputation that speaks for itself. Coach Kara has outpouring support across the country, from student-athletes and their families, and those who know her. When she asked for help with a family that has bullied her, we came to support her. The writing is on the wall! This is all to common unfortunately in the coaching space. Experience Coach for yourself, speak with relevant team members or real former players, and inform your own opinion. You will be happy you did."
"As a parent, I watched Coach Concheck take over my daughters D1 team, a team that was a perennial cellar dweller, and lead them to the most wins in program history her senior year. Was she demanding at times, yes. Did she expect the best they had out of them, yes. Were their difficult discussions at times, yes. But all of this took place in a culture where the players knew she cared about them and their successes not just as athletes but as human beings. Kara brought a culture of mutual respect, caring and fun to a team that had none of that. I will never forget how she spoke about the seniors on senior day, off the cuff, and how she nailed exactly who every one of those young ladies were as athletes and people. As a parent, you hope that your child's coach is fair and that they have the mindset to help develop their athletes into great people who can go out into the world with confidence and hope. I'm a big believer in leaving a place or a person better than what it was when you got there and I can confidently say that Kara has done that wherever she has been."
"Coach Kara has been amazing to these girls at Winthrop. She accepted a tough situation coming in right before the season a few years back and has made the most with the players left over from that staff. She has a vision for the future and is gradually building an increasingly positive culture within the women’s lacrosse program. Kara pushes the athletic department for things the program needs and advocates for her players constantly. With her first true recruiting class coming in this year exciting things are on the horizon for Winthrop Lacrosse. "
"Kara is new to our program but has had an immediate positive impact. She connects with the players and has given a renewed energy to the program that was desperately needed. She has a great outlook on things. She is a lot of fun, but she can also be tough (but fair)."
