"(On her time at UDallas) I do not recommend. One time, a teammate hit another teammate on the sideline, and because I saw it happen, she called me the next day to ask what happened exactly. When I told her, she told me that it was my fault they hit each other and I was not being a good teammate by interfering. We were in the middle of a game- I was not going to interfere with a physical altercation between 2 players. She was an incredibly inconsistent coach and in 2 years, she had a combined 26 players quit/transfer, leaving myself and one other player on the team, and the second year leaving myself and 3 other players on the team. It was horrible. She had an all-freshman lineup and then wondered why we only won 2 games. She blamed me and my co-captain (a sophomore and junior as captains because she had no other upperclassmen) for not being good leaders, but when we would ask her for help, she basically told us there was nothing she could do and we needed to figure it out on our own. She said so many undeserved and out-of-pocket things to my teammates as well- she specifically said the worst things to the girls who really cared and worked the hardest (it sure seemed that way). She blamed our losing on being too young, but she never instilled good values, let people get away with poor attitudes/behavior/actions, and did not inspire us, push us, or encourage us. She knew about drama on the team and did nothing. In one game, I was playing really well, and when I subbed out, she told me, "You need to do better if you want to stay in". I had panic attacks about my performance because no matter how good I was playing, it was never enough for her, but then she had players who could make 100 mistakes, and she would never pull them. I never felt like she believed in me. She was hard to talk to, did not put effort into creating a good team culture, blamed problems on literally anything that meant she did not have to work to change anything, and did not listen to me and my co-captain when we told her we wanted to quit- she did not care. Ultimately, she had no backbone to actually get players to respect and listen to her. She never made us run, we never conditioned, we were out of shape. She told me and my co-captain that it was our responsibility to get our teammates out to the gym in the mornings to run lines and that it "wasn't her job". It was not good. After her 9th season, with her third mass exodus of players, she quit. Upon telling us she was leaving, she said, "I hope the next coach has better luck with you guys,", it was the most passive-aggressive thing and that was when I realized I had zero respect left for her- and I tried so hard to have respect for her and have a good relationship with her because I didn't think she would ever get fired but then she quit, and now I don't have to. Because she left, I have an excitement for volleyball that I have not had in a while. I would blame the multiple mass-exoduses on the transfer portal- but only 3 (out of her 26+ who left) ended up transferring- the problem was her. "
