"My experience with Lisa was a rollercoaster. I was one of her favorites, so my experience was not as bad as some peoples. I think outside of softball she is a good person, but we are out coached by almost every team we play. The assistant coaches, namely Jessie, is who kept me in this program. Do not let the fact that she has coached for 30+ years make you think that she is knowledgable about the game. Her assistants are the ones that run practices and deeply coach every aspect of the game, she does all of the administrative stuff. She does not care about fitness enough, and if there is one thing I would change it would be how much we should be conditioning. We need more of it, and it generally is our downfall towards the end of the season. With hitting she cares about quantity over quality. She only boosts your ego and will only talk about how good your swing 'looks' or not talk to you at all. We do not practice enough defense by any means, even though our defensive coach is one of the best ones I have ever played under. It is an often felt sentiment that the players are the ones that have to strive for greatness in spite of her. If I had a little sister that was wanting to play college ball, I would never let her enter this program. We have even had girls in the past that have told recruits not to come here. She also is terrible at recruiting and doesn't recruit players with winning mentality's. She recruits complainers and toxic people that end up hurting the program more than they are benefitting it. People also make terrible choices and decisions that often have ZERO consequences."

"Lisa Costello is a great coach if you are a favorite. She is a great person overall but as a coach she is not someone who I would recommend playing under. You have to ask every question under the sun to get a solid answer to a problem about yourself. You will get left in the dark if you do not speak up. Communication skills need improvement. Players are players but people first not just runs or plays. The players had to create their own culture without coaches because there was no middle ground being met. Lisa is open to changing team culture but not players on the field even if the team is not successful. "

"She is extremely laid back and practice are ran more so by assistant coaches than by her. She cares more about quantity than quality and only cares about you getting stuff done. "

"She does not know when to push players or how to motivate, she lets things slide that she shouldn't, she's too lenient and not tough enough. She doesn't help you get better and doesnt offer any tips, she'll tell you a swing is good just to boost your confidence without ever actually fixing any problems. She is lazy and not trusted among players."
