"An incredible man. Builds on his prior years and learns. He sees each athlete as a person and goes above and beyond to make them feel seen. He will always have time for you if you have a problem even if it’s not related to rowing. He could be most honest and harsh sometimes with his coaching. He does make a fantastic training plan that will work you hard though. He is able to get the best out of everyone. Takes culture extremely seriously in a good way and is always looking for ways and wanting to receive feedback on how we can cultivate and even better program and team. He is the only person I would want running this program and is the most incredible coach I have worked with. I am beyond pleased that I got to come to Syracuse and work as an athlete under him. "

"The focus is not on academics, practice times seemed to be picked based off convenience, rather than what made it possible for athletes to take the classes they needed. multiple athletes quit bc of this, and nothing changed. Also seemed to be too sarcastic to the point where it was mean."

"He comes from coaching the men’s Olympic team to coaching women’s rowing for the first time at Cuse. He is extremely intense, and makes everyone feel like he hates them. However, he knows what he is talking about and is very knowledgeable about the sport. "
