"Coach Logan is not just a coach, but a great leader and mentor. He is honest about his expectations and will hold you accountable. If you are looking for a casual college running experience, this is not your guy. At times he can take things too seriously, but it is a great fit if you care about your running. What I appreciated most about running for Coach is his honesty and integrity. If he doesn't think you are meeting the expectations he will tell you. I wasn't the fastest runner in college, but he treated me the same as the best on the team. He certainly isn't for everyone, but if you take it seriously and are invested in the program you will love running for this guy.
When I got to YHC, the team was a joke. I am proud to say that the team is in a much better place and Coach deserves a lot of the credit for that. "
"If you are looking for a coach that only cares about running this a good coach for you. He says that the team is one, meaning that the girls team and mens team are both one team and not individual teams. This sounds good at first, but once you get to know him you realize he does not stand by this. He treats the mens team worse than the girls team. For example the guys team will have an ok to average race and he will be highly disappointed, which is understandable, until he praises the girls team even after they have a horrible race. Now to my next point. He says that he wants to make it easy for you to go and talk to him. This is a lie especially when more than half the team is either scared or hesitant to go and talk to him over something as small as an injury. He will act like he has never seen or heard of an injury and will think that you are making an excuse. This brings me to another issue. The way he treats our physical trainer. He disrespects her and her advice given the little knowledge she has about running injury's. She try's her best and he disrespects her. Talking about disrespect, he sits there at practice and degrades the athletes that he knows won't say anything back to him. He will also pick favorites on the team and sit and talk trash about the other athletes on the team. Also if you are a social person and decide to come here do not think you can be a social person at this school with Matt Logan as your coach. He does not like anyone doing anything but running. If you are athletic enough or even wanting to have a little fun with your friends doing anything extracurricular and he finds out he will hold that against you when the time comes. He will lose his mind if he cannot control it and also holds grudges against his athletes."
