"Coach Logan TRASH GARBAGE. Straight dog water. Bro is a horrible team builder like maybe he knows how to make a fast runner but has zero clue on how to build up a team. I need therapy because of him. Physical and psychological therapy. I used to love running now I sit on my butt and it’s all his fault. "
"I got to live both ends of the spectrum.. I knew going into Keiser there would be high expectations and an environment focused on winning, which I was excited for. The running didn't bother me. I enjoyed the running lol, but what broke my heart was watching the girls that were extremely talented at volleyball have to throw up in garbage cans, crawl on the ground, pass out, and cry in the trainers' room... every. single. day. They never got a chance, instead their bodies were broken down and they received 0 coaching.
His tactics turned girls against one another, and it was 6 individuals on the court rather than 1 team...
As I am applying to PhD programs soon, I still struggle to find the silver lining... having structure is amazing for athletes, but this wasn't structure, this was a dictatorship based on how these nasty men were feeling that specific day... and I say men because Sydow was almost worse...
I sustained a concussion 5 months before starting at Keiser and had another stupid head injury while playing there. The trainer had me to go to the ER (I drove myself) and was SCARED herself for Rogers to see me on my phone calling my parents to let them know and standing next to the training room with blood pouring down my face w/out cover shorts on (as I had come straight from practice)... this was the day I decided to leave. I should have never been rushed out to drive myself to the ER with any potential for another head injury, and this happened because of fear. My own fear to take anyone away from practice and the trainers' own fear. Not only was I put at risk, but anyone on the road that day was too. I cannot stress this enough, I knew I was going into a tough program, but I didn't know I'd still be having nightmares about this man (his painted toe nails, his assistant-coach who struggled to speak to women in general, Chick-fil-A, etc.) and it was NOT worth the big scholarship I was given.
...I'm almost glad I went there though, it was like the Stanford Prison Experiment, watching those given power wield it against those that were powerless.. and I learned absolutely nothing about volleyball, I regressed immensely from injuries and a loss of confidence.
The last thing I will say is this, when I first got to Keiser and I was playing, coach told my parents that I needed to create strong bonds with the girls that were on the court with me, the girls that terrorized the other players, rather than the practice players who would never play- I refused to go out of my way to do this. This is the part that makes me almost glad to have gone through it, because I didn't become a part of their game... I treated all of my teammates with respect and I don't blame the girls that didn't, they were literally just responding to the instability in the environment- they weren't the problem!

"Coach Logan is a horrible coach if you want to even call him that. All he does is put together his most intense possible plan then throws it at everyone to see who survives. You will only have a good experience if you are a female or if you are someone he decided to make his little pet who can do no wrong. He will ignore your attempts to talk to him, and will ignore your injuries and encourage you not to talk to the trainer. He will ruin your life if one of his pets doesn’t like you. He is toxic, manipulative, gossipy, childish, and is far from the supposed Christian man and leader he pretends to be when he lures you in to joining the team. Save your mental health and your body and go somewhere else."
"I really appreciate Matt Logan both as a coach and a mentor. He's not afraid to push people outside of their comfort zones on any given day, and yes throughout a week's period he can be exhausting, but the work pays off. I never found it difficult to talk to him about anything, and even if he does come across hard headed its really easy to see him as a sensitive guy as well. He sets a really positive team culture and clearly cares about that as one of his top priorities, and in some cases if it gets out of hand he isn't afraid to mediate. If you were someone who just wants to get fast and just that, I wouldn't recommend his coaching at all. But if you want to improve as not only an athlete but as a person, I couldn't recommend him more. "
"Coach Logan is not just a coach, but a great leader and mentor. He is honest about his expectations and will hold you accountable. If you are looking for a casual college running experience, this is not your guy. At times he can take things too seriously, but it is a great fit if you care about your running. What I appreciated most about running for Coach is his honesty and integrity. If he doesn't think you are meeting the expectations he will tell you. I wasn't the fastest runner in college, but he treated me the same as the best on the team. He certainly isn't for everyone, but if you take it seriously and are invested in the program you will love running for this guy.
When I got to YHC, the team was a joke. I am proud to say that the team is in a much better place and Coach deserves a lot of the credit for that. "
"With the campus being in rural Georgia. Young Harris offers an enriching campus, with a strong academic/athletic environment. When looking at the men's lacrosse team, the culture was enriching, along with engaging with players on the team who provided insight about what it's like to play there. "
