"My experience with this coach was extremely disappointing. I found the environment to be very challenging, and it was disheartening to witness and endure behavior that was discriminatory and emotionally abusive. Has anger issues and is not mentally fit to be a golf coach anywhere. It deeply affected me, and I’m glad I am transferring to a more supportive environment. "
"Played under him at his previous school and his unprofessionalism and unhinged behavior led to his firing. Don’t know why he’s been able to keep a head coaching job for so long. "
"This man had us and our daughter convinced that under his direction as a women’s head golf coach, she would thrive as a collegiate golfer and student at the University of Springfield Illinois. So, it came as shock when we realized just how volatile and unpredictable he is once fall semester began. During the recruiting process, he went above and beyond to reassure us that he had her best interests in mind on and off the course. Unfortunately, we believed him to the detriment of our daughter’s mental, emotional, and physical health. Our daughter will never get back the year she lost at UIS because of him. Michael Leotta should not be allowed to coach anyone, anywhere ever again."
"Michael Leotta's coaching approach is consistently characterized by unfairness, bullying and lack of transparency. Given his track record of questionable coaching practices, it would be irresponsible to expose your child to such a potentially harmful environment."
"If I had the option to rate him in the negatives, trust me, I would. This guy is an absolute nightmare – not only is he uneducated about the game, but he's also a bully with anger issues. To make matters worse, he got the boot from the university I played for, and now he's back? It's mind-boggling. This dude isn't just bad at coaching; he's a pathological liar on top of everything. "
"Michael Leotta epitomizes everything a coach should not be. His treatment of players is consistently unfair and borderline abusive. Worse yet, he regularly engages in unethical behavior, from breaking rules and then blaming everyone else for it. His inability to control his emotions is glaringly evident, with outbursts of anger and frustration in inappropriate settings. In addition to his emotional immaturity, he neglects his duties and decides when to do his job or not. His lack of commitment and professionalism begs the question of how someone so clearly unsuited to coaching continues to occupy such a position of power over young athletes.
"
"Extremely disrespectful coach with poor emotional intelligence. Don’t be fooled by his initial charms, it’s all a facade to cover for his abusive behaviors and fool people around him. "
"Really bad coach, with anger issues. Sorry to say this but he’s got the mentality of a five year old with the anger issues of a gang member. Also doesn’t know how to talk to women. Please avoid. "
"Stumbled across this profile and I'm shocked this individual is still a coach. Do yourself a favor and don't go anywhere where he is. My experience with this coach was nothing short of a nightmare. Their disrespectful and abusive behavior towards players was beyond belief. It's crazy to see that such a toxic presence is allowed to persist in coaching roles. Steer clear for your own well-being and mental health."
"A few years ago, I had Michael as my coach; it was one of the worst experiences of my life. He came with a charming personality and a perfect resume, but if quickly went downhill. Talking to him was like walking on eggshells as he can get mad about minimal things. He is disorganized and always wants to get his way. He will disrespect you, ignore you if he feels like it, and is the most petulant person you will ever meet. My heart breaks for the people that still have him as a coach. "
