"My experience with her showed a coach that was pragmatic, and extermely knowledgable on the subject of swimming, those are the only true positive things I can say about her. While not intentially agressive nor purposely harsh on swimmers and divers, I believe her biggest problem is negligance and her inability to effectively communicate and encourage the athletes on the team to be themselves and to encourage a positive energy. At times she lets her emotional outbursts get in the way of some practices, other times she does not consider the perspectives of other atheles on the team and consistantly negagted the fustriations felt on the team. Consequentially, this helped to contribute to an environment of petty trash talking and stress that created an environment not fit for any atheltic program. While certain things are developing and I am sure that the problems on the team will be accounted for, this includes her personnal flaws, long after I am gone, I do believe it has to start with her establishing a better relationship with others not as a coach but as a caring and sensitive induvidual that is aware of the problems on the team. For any swimmer or diver thinking aobut Union College, I do think there are better programs out there and Union College and currently, it is not worth it considering the lack of encouragement and lesser energy on the team.
