"Field hockey has always been a huge part of my life and means a lot to me as an athlete. Being recruited to play in college was one of the best days of my life, but little did I know how much my mental health would be impacted by the coaching staff in just one season. I came into Stevenson knowing that balancing a sport and my academics was going to be a challenge, but being a returning player when Morgan first came to Stevenson as the brand new head coach for the program I thought to myself this was going to be a good change and a younger coach who would understand class conflicts and having to leave practice early for class and not be penalized in game day. Yet, I was completely wrong about this she is not happy when you leave practice early to go back to class and you will be penalized during game day for this unless you are a favorite. If you are from PA you will be perfect on the team as all the PA players play in every game. Morgan is one of the fakest coaches I have ever seen as she sat us all down during the season and told us that the coaching staff cares more about the person you are, way more than the athlete in you this is not true at all. All she wants to do is win and does not care if you fall behind in classes and miss extra time with professors to get extra help. Field hockey comes first all the time according to Morgan, but being in a D3 program school comes first. My whole last season I played for her I was miserable, at one point I told my friends and family that I was not playing after that season and they had my back because even since they weren't on the team they saw it as I was miserable and so many other players were too. By the end of the season I knew I was done and I wanted to be done because I was mentally messed up from Morgan drilling everything has to be about field hockey. In reality D3 players play in college to have fun its not a professional career because we all have our huge careers to look forward to and to have something fun to do on the side was the fun part of playing field hockey at Stevenson, but as soon as Morgan came in it was full time job playing field hockey as we never stopped practicing we had field hockey 7 days a week. If we did not have actual practice we had something to do with the team. You don't get a social life because all you do is stay with your team and by that time you don't want to be with your team anymore and just need a break. "

"She plays favorites and doesn’t care about winning. She is more interested in the drama of players lives than coaching field hockey. "

"This coach is a nightmare. During her first year coaching she told us everyday at practice that we “weren’t good” and that she has “enough new recruits to replace all of us”. It was very evident that she did not plan to coach the team SHE came into. She forced us to quit one by one through her mentally abusive ways to make her dream team of skinny Pennsylvania girls. She had clear favorites and acted like a psycho to anyone who wasn’t one. She often called players into her office to confront them about how they “don’t like her” and would scold and scream at them for an hour minimum making most cry. She also pulled players behind closed doors to tell them they are a “b*tch”. Worse years of my life playing for this lady. This coach caused myself and many other players the worst state of mental health they’ve ever been in. Like a mean girl in high school, and the assistant is right there with her. "

"I cannot warn someone enough about playing for Morgan. Like the other reviews have said so many girls have quit playing solely because of her. I would not recommend this team/coach to my worst enemy. She creates such a toxic playing environment that pins people against each other instead of having us unite as a family/team. The coaches at Stevenson make their players absolutely miserable. I was scolded and berated constantly for “taking too many credits”, “taking too hard of course” (that were required for my major), and “caring more about my academics than the team”. Which in my opinion at a D3 school should kinda be the expectation to an extent. I was forced to participate in activities while I was injured and communicated my injuries multiple times to the coach with absolutely no acceptance or understanding. I was also forced to be late to class constantly because I was not allowed to leave practices/lifts/etc at appropriate times which is against school policy. Morgan is honestly one of the fakest coaches I’ve ever played for. There were multiple instances where she was caught talking down or poorly about players behind their backs to other players on the team. I will say Morgan is extremely knowledgeable about the sport and players can learn a lot from her, BUT if you are not one of her favorites don’t expect to be treated the same way, get any attention at practices, or ever even think about touching the field. This coach has ruined so many girls college experience and their love for the sport of field hockey. I am honestly still battling with the results of playing on her team and how it has affected my relationship with the sport I love so dearly. "

"The experience overall wasn’t bad, but the expectations for players at a D3 school were unrealistic. While striving to elevate play standards is natural on any team, we should realistically align with our D3 status and not mirror the schedules of D1 or D2 schools. Coach Morgan Bitting showed varying levels of care for us, evident in playing time distribution. Despite being told playing time was earned, transparency was lacking in SUFH. The coaching staff promised transparency but often fell short. Coach Bitting's approach, though intended to foster independence, sometimes left players unsupported in handling mental health issues or team conflicts. Upon leaving the team, the lack of acknowledgment from former teammates underscored a disconnected team culture, revealing more like a group of individuals than a cohesive family."

"Words cannot describe the experiences I had with this coach. I love this sport with all of my heart, but she is the only coach that created a team culture that made me dread going to practice and being apart of the team. I’m sure in a few years that she will be a good coach, but right now she has some growing up to do. "

"Don’t play for her unless you want to hate your life. Most people who played for her during the same time as me quit within our four years (about 15 out of 30 players). Expects you to miss class and clinical for practices. Also breaks NCAA violations all the time. Not to mention how she runs on favorites aka if your not stick skinny and from PA don’t expect to touch the field. Also just mean. Too young and immature to be coaching at the collegiate level, the assistant coach is just as bad. "
