"Gives you all the tools to be great and hold you accountable. Don’t play for him if you are someone that needs to be carried into battle because he expects a high level of initiative from you."
"Field hockey has always been a huge part of my life and means a lot to me as an athlete. Being recruited to play in college was one of the best days of my life, but little did I know how much my mental health would be impacted by the coaching staff in just one season. I came into Stevenson knowing that balancing a sport and my academics was going to be a challenge, but being a returning player when Morgan first came to Stevenson as the brand new head coach for the program I thought to myself this was going to be a good change and a younger coach who would understand class conflicts and having to leave practice early for class and not be penalized in game day. Yet, I was completely wrong about this she is not happy when you leave practice early to go back to class and you will be penalized during game day for this unless you are a favorite. If you are from PA you will be perfect on the team as all the PA players play in every game. Morgan is one of the fakest coaches I have ever seen as she sat us all down during the season and told us that the coaching staff cares more about the person you are, way more than the athlete in you this is not true at all. All she wants to do is win and does not care if you fall behind in classes and miss extra time with professors to get extra help. Field hockey comes first all the time according to Morgan, but being in a D3 program school comes first. My whole last season I played for her I was miserable, at one point I told my friends and family that I was not playing after that season and they had my back because even since they weren't on the team they saw it as I was miserable and so many other players were too. By the end of the season I knew I was done and I wanted to be done because I was mentally messed up from Morgan drilling everything has to be about field hockey. In reality D3 players play in college to have fun its not a professional career because we all have our huge careers to look forward to and to have something fun to do on the side was the fun part of playing field hockey at Stevenson, but as soon as Morgan came in it was full time job playing field hockey as we never stopped practicing we had field hockey 7 days a week. If we did not have actual practice we had something to do with the team. You don't get a social life because all you do is stay with your team and by that time you don't want to be with your team anymore and just need a break. "
"This coach is a nightmare. During her first year coaching she told us everyday at practice that we “weren’t good” and that she has “enough new recruits to replace all of us”. It was very evident that she did not plan to coach the team SHE came into. She forced us to quit one by one through her mentally abusive ways to make her dream team of skinny Pennsylvania girls. She had clear favorites and acted like a psycho to anyone who wasn’t one. She often called players into her office to confront them about how they “don’t like her” and would scold and scream at them for an hour minimum making most cry. She also pulled players behind closed doors to tell them they are a “b*tch”. Worse years of my life playing for this lady. This coach caused myself and many other players the worst state of mental health they’ve ever been in. Like a mean girl in high school, and the assistant is right there with her. "
"I cannot warn someone enough about playing for Morgan. Like the other reviews have said so many girls have quit playing solely because of her. I would not recommend this team/coach to my worst enemy. She creates such a toxic playing environment that pins people against each other instead of having us unite as a family/team. The coaches at Stevenson make their players absolutely miserable. I was scolded and berated constantly for “taking too many credits”, “taking too hard of course” (that were required for my major), and “caring more about my academics than the team”. Which in my opinion at a D3 school should kinda be the expectation to an extent. I was forced to participate in activities while I was injured and communicated my injuries multiple times to the coach with absolutely no acceptance or understanding. I was also forced to be late to class constantly because I was not allowed to leave practices/lifts/etc at appropriate times which is against school policy. Morgan is honestly one of the fakest coaches I’ve ever played for. There were multiple instances where she was caught talking down or poorly about players behind their backs to other players on the team. I will say Morgan is extremely knowledgeable about the sport and players can learn a lot from her, BUT if you are not one of her favorites don’t expect to be treated the same way, get any attention at practices, or ever even think about touching the field. This coach has ruined so many girls college experience and their love for the sport of field hockey. I am honestly still battling with the results of playing on her team and how it has affected my relationship with the sport I love so dearly. "
"The experience overall wasn’t bad, but the expectations for players at a D3 school were unrealistic. While striving to elevate play standards is natural on any team, we should realistically align with our D3 status and not mirror the schedules of D1 or D2 schools. Coach Morgan Bitting showed varying levels of care for us, evident in playing time distribution. Despite being told playing time was earned, transparency was lacking in SUFH. The coaching staff promised transparency but often fell short. Coach Bitting's approach, though intended to foster independence, sometimes left players unsupported in handling mental health issues or team conflicts. Upon leaving the team, the lack of acknowledgment from former teammates underscored a disconnected team culture, revealing more like a group of individuals than a cohesive family."
"Words cannot describe the experiences I had with this coach. I love this sport with all of my heart, but she is the only coach that created a team culture that made me dread going to practice and being apart of the team. I’m sure in a few years that she will be a good coach, but right now she has some growing up to do. "
"Don’t play for her unless you want to hate your life. Most people who played for her during the same time as me quit within our four years (about 15 out of 30 players). Expects you to miss class and clinical for practices. Also breaks NCAA violations all the time. Not to mention how she runs on favorites aka if your not stick skinny and from PA don’t expect to touch the field. Also just mean. Too young and immature to be coaching at the collegiate level, the assistant coach is just as bad. "
"As associate AD Graeme bullies his colleagues. He also picks and chooses what rules he wants to follow. Falsely accuses teams, coaches, and athletes of things they have not done and proceeds to berate an entire team or staff for the accusations he makes. I am not sure if Graeme does this to stay relevant as an Associate AD (lots of competition- half the coaches are associate ADs). Favors the team he coaches and football. All other teams he tries to throw shade at. University does not address the issues when brought up. "
"Racist and anti-semitic. As a first-generation college student and swimmer, I have felt nothing but discomfort around AD Brett Adams. Not to mention he has no care for Swimming, Track, and Tennis. Uses micro-aggressions a lot and threatens students and coaches with the "false bottom" i.e. "If you don't do X, Y&Z will happen." He is solely focused on making money at the expense of athletes and coaches. Sadly, the university does little to address the problems at hand and tries to cover it up. The only good is that Brett is working on updating and building up our facilities. However, a program is made by the people, not the facilities. "
"Emily always cared so much for me as an athlete! You could go to her for anything you needed! She created a great environment for learning new skills and for team bonding. She was so supportive and let’s you have input on things which I loved!"
"Overall great experience with this coach. Needs to stand her ground more with older athletes. Too nice at times.. Knows a lot about acro and the history of the sport. Very easy to understand."
"One of my all-time favorite coaches to work with has been Coach Julia. She is truly skilled at what she does, and she is just SO knowledgeable about softball. Coach J is concerned about, respects, and watchful of her athletes. Despite being straightforward and honest, she believes in all of her players. When someone is having a bad practice, she can tell. Most of the time, her office is open. When entering her office, she brings this welcoming atmosphere with her. When you talk to her about things other than softball, she listens carefully and offers excellent counsel. Coach J is a competitive coach who always wants the greatest results. Coach J doesn't mind using her top 10 to 11 players every game (which some people may have a problem with). Even though she occasionally displays toughness, she always has a winning attitude. Overall, Coach J is one of the greatest, and I have genuinely enjoyed being a part of her team as a player. She makes me a better student athlete, but also a human being."
"She’s a poor leader and a disagreeable person. Players and coaching staff are too scared to confront her about her poor coaching decisions, and she treats players that do confront her like dirt. I don’t think a single person on my team actually liked her."
"I’ve had high school coaches that were more knowledgeable than her. She’s losing players left and right because of her incompetency, and it’s showing this year. She’s disrespectful, ignorant, and downright immature. She doesn’t know the game, doesn’t understand her players, and believes she can do no wrong, making it impossible to work with her. Please avoid the mistakes I’ve made and don’t play for her."
"Not the best coach I’ve ever had seen some guys on the team lost their dads and they both left within a year of that.. coach always talked about family this family that but showed no love or support to the guys who lost their dads..for that sole purpose I wouldn’t recommend anyone going to Stevenson I’d 110% go to Salisbury especially for championships and culture.. "
"Makes genuine efforts to connect with his players and try to bring the team together. Coach Righter has improved in open-mindedness, honesty, and communication considerably throughout my four years. A much more level-headed coach and person than he gets credit for. No coach is perfect, but his weaknesses get exaggerated severely. Overall very good."
"At times, Coach Righter can be a little stubborn and set in his ways. He also can get in his own way and try to do too much instead of letting things play out. That being said, he is very knowledgeable and does truly care about his players. He is a young coach and has a lot to learn. He is continuing to grow and has a lot of potential."

"He’s very knowledgeable and cares about his players. Sometimes his practices are a little inefficient. There are some players that don’t like him because we go to a very sensitive school. "
"He surely knows pitching and maybe one day could make a great pitching coach. However, he kills confidence and is not good with people. Can’t relate to his players and constantly tries to manipulate their every move. Talks down to the assistant coach (fukes) everyone adores. Hired an unpaid coach who is just horrible. MR improved over my 2 yrs"
"Coach Righter cares about his players and values development as well as winning. At times he can be reluctant to change his perspective or strategy, but he is always willing to hear feedback from players and encourages honesty on their part. "
"He works very hard and is committed to the program and making the team as good as it can be. He tries to promote strong team culture, and the team is an incredibly close knit group. Questionable game time and lineup decisions however, typically favoring younger players, can leave established players feeling confused or even betrayed at times."
"I had an extremely positive experience playing under Coach Righter. He has tremendously helped me develop as a person and as a player. We still communicate to this day. "
"You don’t want to play for this guy. Went to Johns Hopkins and tries to use that to make it seem like he’s intelligent, but was only there because he was a great athlete."
"Very manipulative and dishonest coach. Does not care about players and only looks to forward his own career. Forces team to have a very odd hitting approach most players disagree with"
"Parents do not like her and the players are too scared to say otherwise. Coaching decisions are not up to par and she does not have her priorities straight. Diminishes the worth of less-skilled and/or less-fit players. Control freak."
"Tati has completely transformed our program, and is the most invested coach I have ever played for. She genuinely cares about each and every player, and has made our team a true family."
"She manipulates and degrades her players, coaching staff, and other members of the University. She neglects her players, using spring breaks as her own personal vacation or missing practices for personal outings. She is often dishonest with recruits, if she even takes the time to meet them. The game has changed drastically but she hasn't adapted. "
"She is a terrible coach who is stuck in the past and will not change with the game. She degraded her players and makes them feel like they are incompetent. On top of this she is never available for her players if they need help academically or really anything. She has been at the school for 13 years and has not been very successful....."
"Coach Blick helped me through many difficult times during my time at Stevenson, on and off the field. She i knows the game and communicates it to the team in a way for them to understand. She truly has your best interest at heart. "
