"Loves the sport, but severely lacking in caring for the whole athlete. Does not weigh how what he says will affect the athlete or team. Pushes some out passively and favors the fastest. "
"There are not three words listed that describe her. She is very difficult to play for and to talk to. She is verbally abusive and unfair. She is not available for players to ask questions (coaching advice). She is just plain rude and will never admit being wrong. She tends to play very few members of the team and at times has just plain unrealistic expectations. Violates NCAA Rules. Puts academics second and pushes players if hurt or ill to play regardless. She is definitely not the person who presents on first meeting. Beware. "
"Ben Young, a product of the program he now runs, is building something fantastic with Carson-Newman. He puts countless hours into this team and constructs fantastic relationships with his swimmers. He also knows when to keep it real and is not going to lie to you when you come up short. He knows limits and how to push you to exceed them. He is a strong sprint coach but also knows his stuff when it comes to breaststroke and distance freestyle. His assistant and GA complement the knowledge gaps well to where they can truly reconstruct a swimmer for the better. Highly recommend getting on the train before it leaves the station, because this program is going places."
