"KG was always really understanding and kind when it came to school stresses or athletes just having a bad day. Time efficiency could've been better, but he was doing his best with limited resources. He truly cared about us all as individuals. He knew how to motivate us without making us feel bad about ourselves, and I always felt like he was fair about making lineups and coaching decisions. Will always have fond memories of his coaching."
"The least honest or thoughtful coach I have ever worked with. Repeatedly lies about program expectations to recruits, plays favorites, and does not value student-athlete mental health. Pablo talks a big game about academic achievement but does not work with students and staff to build a culture of academic accountability, preferring to hide behind mandated study hall hours instead of addressing root causes of struggle like learning disabilities or mental health. He will throw students and staff alike under the bus when he gets caught in a lie or mismanages a sensitive case. For someone who knows so much about swimming, it's ironic that the people around him always feel like they're drowning. "
"Tempermental coach who often used scare tactics to get players to listen, yelling at us (crossing the motivational line) during and after games. Clearly had favorites and was not afraid to single out players until they cried. Claimed to value mental health but when it came to personal experiences, I found it incredibly difficult to open up and trust her as missing practice would impact my playing time. We had written out tests of our playbooks and values: those that didn’t pass weren’t allowed to practice until they scored above an 80. Team culture relied heavily on drinking every weekend for team bonding. The upperclassmen were all in (academics on the backburner during season), sometimes using their power to belittle freshmen/transfers for the sake of it. They believed this is what team culture should look like, but it was an incredibly toxic environment to be in. "
"One of the best facilities I’ve seen for soccer. Newly renovated, the only thing not new was the Lockerroom . Small, need done but I was told it was in the plans. Soccer field was grass, which was fantastic. Academic center was amazing. "
"Kelly was my assistant at Boston University. While she was a good hearted person, she did not stand up for us to the prior head coach there. She went to one of my teammates after she left to accept the job at Delaware and apologized for not standing up for us. I do believe she has a good heart and is extremely knowledgable about the game but in her position of power she failed to protect us in her role as an assistant at BU. "
"It was during COVID, so it was difficult to really interact with the players and see the team dynamic. However, I loved the visit overall! I went to a game and toured all of the facilities. The only thing that wasn't great was that the locker room was really small. The soccer stadium is awesome! The facilities are off campus so you have to drive. The weight room is huge and has lots of advanced technology. "
