"Pablo is a very good coach, you have to be a tough person to be successful in his program. If you are not a tough person, UD is not the program for you simple as that. There is a lot of complaining on hear about things that are givens in college sports. "He only likes fast kids", every coach favors there better swimmers, we're not in club anymore it is not fair. If you want a coach to coddle you through your four years go somewhere else, If you want to be a better swimmer, go to UD."
"Coach Altig is one of the best lacrosse minds around. The only negative is that she will parent leave the blue hens before my daughter graduated.
Knows the game well, can teach complicated concepts and really cares. She is tough, but not in a bullying like way.
She is also very confident in herself and her systems. My daughter likes this and thinks it breeds confidence in the teams, however, some other players think her ego is too big."
"I have never experienced anything worse than Pablo Marmolejo’s horrible dictatorship. Although he is knowledgeable in the sport, he is the least caring individual on planet earth. He is inconsistent with how he treats people, and only likes you if you’re the fastest on the team. The least personable coach I’ve ever met. He is great at recruiting, but once you’re there he is terrible. He kicks people off randomly with no remorse, but stands behind people (men) accused of rape. Again, extremely inconsistent with how he treats his swimmers. Don’t waste your time even looking here. He has the old school mentality with no empathy or understanding towards anyone. Swimming first, human last. "
"Cannot find words to more highly recommend this coach. Organized, very knowledgeable, warm, personable, promotes great team culture. Excels with high level players. Doubles expertise. I have experienced tennis children with 3 D1 schools and this coach was far superior. "
"If you stop hearing from him, he doesn't want you on his team. He doesn't communicate and is afraid to directly talk to the athletes or their club coach. He has his assistant coaches tell recruits that they are not wanted for the team. When club coach ask questions, he doesn't respond."
"UDs facilities are one of its biggest selling points. The Whitney Athletic Center has top quality equipment, services, and spaces for student athletes."
"Rolf and the coaching staff at UD support a culture of making players feel invaluable and easily discardable. I would never recommend going here if you care about your well being. "
"Still unsure of how he was qualified for the job considering he has very little background on softball. Not great at communication and doesn't value other coaches. "
"This guy is a complete joke, he is mentally and verbally abusive. He is the worst coach I've ever had. He has no idea about the game. Practices are pointless. I've learned nothing about the game since I've been here. Always negative. Never gives contructive criticism. Doesn't let the other coaches, coach. "
"Doesn't have knowledge of the game. Is a hard person to communicate with because he's unapproachable and tells you your opinions are wrong. Wants to be in control and take credit for everything....until we begin to lose, then it's "we need to figure it out ourselves". "
"Doesn't know the slightest thing about the actual game of softball. Easily the worst coach I've ever had. The reason I lost the love of the game I've played basically my whole life. "
"He's a hardass coach who doesn't take anything but your best, but he is incredibly determined to get you to where you need to be. He does this through his great methods of motivation and encouragement."
"I have never had a coach pick favorites and it was eye opening. It was only about the best athletes, if you got injured you were a ghost to Wendy. Everyone wants to win, I understand that. But if your will to win is greater than your love for the actual sport and athletes, then your team will never succeed as a whole."
"Very committed to building our team and program. He constantly motivates us to be the most fit, the most passionate, the most hard working group of girls any other team has to face. "
"Her heart is in a good place and there is a large focus on things outside of tennis such as school and personal development, but her inability to lead and lack of confidence in herself impairs her coaching ability and holds back the tennis program as a whole. "
"Before game time matches, her "talks" to us are not motivational and are more about her. As an overall coach her skills are outdated and does not bring out the best in the team. On many occasions have prevented players who can play sit out for no reason (and a vendetta) to those players. "
"Coach McFarlane has had an extremely positive impact on my track career and my life. She genuinely cares about the well-being of her athletes and their lives after college. Couldn't have asked for a more understanding, supportive and uplifting coach during my career at UD. "
"Coach Rocco is a great coach who helped lead Richmond back into the National Spotlight. He is very dedicated to molding his players into honorable Men and he is committed to academic excellence. At times he can be a bad communicator and he micromanages his coaches at times. He can also be a bit two-faced and doesn't always handle situations correctly. But overall, he is a good coach and a great guy."
"I was a Four year starter under Danny Rocco and I have to say he is a true Player's Coach. It is always student-athlete first good or bad. He is there to help you as a player but also as a person and he'll go to the chopping block on your behalf. Danny Rocco is a good person that can save player's careers."
"Coach Rocco is a great head coach who is driven by his will to win. He does everything with the intention of helping the team win. He also does a nice job at taking care of his players as well."
"Jordan mckee is an insecure man who will try to tear down young women he didn’t recruit and coach himself. He finds ways to make you question yourself in every single drill and has called young girls slurs and made them feel like they couldn’t do anything right. He should go to therapy before coaching again. "
