"I met this coach a while ago during a fencing tournament, and honestly all I can say is if you’re reading this, Coach Dressell, you all to be a shame. There was one time where I accidentally walked in front of the referee and you yelled me in front of everyone in the stadium, completely humiliating me. Even though I made a mistake, you did not have to go resort to that. Don’t get me started that you have every right to do so. I saw what you did during your time as coach. You act like you’re all above the law when you’re really not. You parked your vehicle in the middle of the street once where it wasn’t supposed to be parked causing inconvenience for others to drive by. You, yourself, even used profanity during one of those fencing tournaments. Honestly, you should have been removed as a coach long ago."

Disorganized Old School Mentality Poor Communication

"Dwayne Hicks was brought up after Coach Ferguson left and this coaching decision was on of the worst mistakes the school has made. He lacks the ability to properly communicate, he’s extremely disorganized, he can be very stubborn at times, and overall he just lacks the qualities of being a good leader. His coaching styles ran girls into the ground, the injury list would grow every week of season, and some days practice would be almost 5 hours on random grass patches because he never communicated with the other coaches when their teams had practice. It was a very frustrating experience and to know that almost everyone on the team went to talk to the AD’s about our concerns and no action was taken. Save yourself and your love of the sport Coach Hicks will ruin it. "

Disorganized Old School Mentality Poor Communication Respectful To Players

"Longwood athletics showed how much they do not care about their women’s lacrosse program when they didn’t conduct a national search after Ferguson left, and just hired Hicks. If they were in a hurry to fill the position, he should have been an interim hire. He would probably make a decent club coach, but he doesn’t understand the game well enough to be coaching D1. They did the same drills day after day, barely worked on shooting, which was obvious in how few goals we scored, and sabotaged a program that was on the upswing. Longwood ADs also did not listen to concerns of almost every player and parent. 8 or 9 players left or entered the portal, 7 graduated and at least 2 incoming players decommitted. I’ve also seen D2 and D3 schools with much nicer facilities. "

He Is Not Qualified For D1 Women’s Lax

"Very nice man but does not understand the women’s game or the pace of D1. Very unorganized, constantly changing plans last minute, and not communicating well with the team about expectations. Did not build any team culture at all. Allowed one player to accumulate 29 cards in one season. That’s a lot of man down/goals scored because one person doesn’t have self control! There was no discipline. "
