"I like coach clayton, I don’t think he’s the kind of coach where you can just say anything you want around him and expect to be understanding. He is however very knowledgeable in the sport and will motivate you."
"My visit was so fun, I was with the coaches for most of the day and then with the team after dinner. They showed me around New Orleans and it is a great place to be. I committed one week after visiting here. Highly Recommend."
"Uno facilities definitely have a lot of resources within their facilities, including help with academics for athletes which I really like. It is just an old complex."
"I really like UNO, this campus made me feel at home. I like the facility but I don’t think it’s the most updated that I’ve seen, especially because we don’t have our own track just for this campus"
"I like UNO, as a distance athlete I am not in the facility a lot, but it is an old facility but the training room and weight room are really nice and always available."
"I am a sophomore here at UNO and I think the facilities aren’t bad. I like how available it is to athletes, were able to get into the facilities until about 9pm at night. It is outdated because it is a smaller D1 but I don’t mind it at all"
"I love UNO, however I do think the athletic facilities are outdated but they are highly functional. The facilities are all very centralized so it’s easy to find."
"our facilities aren’t newly renovated or flashy but they get the job done. our weight room is really nice and spacious and is very close to the dorms."
"The University of New Orleans has a nice campus and a positive environment overall. I enjoy being here and feel comfortable as a student. However, I do wish there were more facilities and resources dedicated to track. Having better or additional track specific facilities would really enhance the experience for student-athletes and help us perform at our best."
"It was a nice facility that seemed to be very family friendly. The campus is open and by the lake front. The weight room was very nice and so was the track. "
"Campus was very nice and clean. the walk around campus seemed medium distance so a bigger campus but walkable. the coaching staff was great as well as the members on the team. I had a lot of fun on my campus visit. "
"Coach Clayton is the most educated person I know in the entire world, he’s really caring and just understanding and he’s gonna get you through every single battle in the world. "
"You know know this is just a very beautiful city and the campus is located in a very safe place in New Orleans. Coach Clayton was really nice and the people in the team were very welcoming and the gym was really nice and that’s it."
"The University of New Orleans does not have a at home track, but we practice down the street at city Park, which has beautiful scenery and it’s very family friendly and it works."
"Worst coach I’ve ever experienced. She abuses people mentally, physically, and verbally. She forced my teammates to play on their fresh injury/ play 100% just 2 weeks after surgery. She verbally tells girls on the team to isolate one girl because she personally doesn’t like her. She will mess with your mind to think she is the only trust worthy one in the program so she can get every piece of information about every player. She used personal information you tell her in confidence to degrade you during practice. She truly sees nothing wrong with her doings. There is a reason she has not had a winning season since she started coaching… She claims her culture is wonderful and uplifts women but it does the opposite. She forces the team against each other and makes the girls hate each other. I have lost my love for the sport I once loved more than anything because of this lady. The most disrespectful, manipulative, hypocritical woman you’ll ever meet. I would advise anyone wanting to play for her to redirect to another school. "
"As an athlete under coach clayton, he is a very down to earth coach. I wouldn’t say he cares about your emotions deeply, but he is motivated and intense. He wants to see us succeed but when we don’t he definitely has some choice words for us."
"School facilities were amazing during visit. Coach wasn’t available face to face but still gave a lot of information on what to expect under their leadership. Dedicated to all freshman mastering sports/school balance. "
"I love it here. It doesn't have everything a fancy school may have, but everyone who works here is so caring and dedicated. All the facilities are more than useful, and everyone is very knowledgeable, especially the coaches."
"I feel so at home here! It is a great school, with great coaches and even better teammates. I love this school, and the coaching staff is very centered on progress. I am very happy. "
"I personally chose to commit to this school because of my interactions with the team and the coaches. Very nice people, and GREAT support team outside of just coaches. All of the people who work to keep the athletes safe, happy, healthy, and protected are amazing. "
"When I arrived on campus, the coaches took my family and I out to breakfast and were super welcoming. Throughout the day I got to see the campus and meet the team. The sprint team was very close and looked like a good environment to be in. After I had dinner with the coaches and the athletes, the athletes let me hangout with them at their apartment and it was a great time, and big reason why I committed here."
"The coaches rolled out the red carpet for our athletes. Full visit, tour, multiple meals, practice, and time with team. The campus is small and dated. The facilities are fine but basic. The coaching staff and team dynamics made the trip! Great environment with tons of support for my kid. "
"While Coach broke is very knowledgable when it comes to running, that is about as far as it gets. With all of the coaches I have had within the running career, he is easily the most immature coach that I have ever had. He would stalk girls instagrams if they didn't text them back immedatly, and make comments about their activities. He only cares about the top runners of the group, and if you mess up even once he will hold it against you. He does not allow for you to have a life outside of running, and is very contritratry. He would get mad at athletes for having internships and even job interviews, and would praise the athletes that choose to do all online classes. I completely understand that this is high level athletics, but he was not ever there for any of his athletes. Additionally, if you are injured, don't even try to get his attention because he will care less on your existence. He also cares a lot about the physical look (size specifically) of his runners, over that of times. He also would never address the countless stress fractures that the team endured. He clearly picks favorites, and is extremely petty. To be honest, dealing with him did not feel like a coach-athlete relationship, it felt like I was messing with a messy and childish teenage boy. If you are fast enough to run at this level, there are better coaches out there. "
