"Does not create a team culture. Not a good communicator. Not respectful to players and doesn’t care about building strong young men. No care for developing and building character or helping these players grow as men. Doesn’t give players the chance to show what they can do. He tends to be superstitious and just keeps the same players in whether they are performing or not. "
"Coach Scappa is not a good communicator to his players. He doesn’t look at the whole picture and refuses to make changes when they are needed. He has favorite players and doesn’t give others the chance to prove themselves. He is not caring and shows no interest in developing the players as young men. He focuses on the negative and gives very little positive praise. "
"This guy displays some autistic characteristics. Afraid of change. No communication skills. Avoid York College Baseball. Kids learn more in T Ball than from this coaching staff."
"Clown show and he is a clown Wouldn't know talent if Bryce Harper showed up. There is talent on our team. But he has no clue what that looks like.
I would look elsewhere if I was considering York to play baseball. "
"I do not go to York College or play for the women's college team, but I previously had Kelly as a coach, and I would honestly transfer for a 2nd time to have her be my coach again. She knows what she is doing, is very knowledgeable about the game, and is always straightforward with you. She is easy to get along with and understand. If you have the chance to be coached by her, please take it!"
"After being on this team and watching them this year I thought I would come here and leave my input. This coach is very embarrassing when it comes to making decisions and it has definitely cost them so far this season. He plays favorites and doesn't give some of his underrated players any playing time but expects them to play better than they do. He may be knowledgeable about lacrosse but is not caring about his players at all. Putting time and effort into lacrosse and the gym certainly isn't worth it for Brandon Childs because no matter how good you're playing and how hard you work, he will still have his favorites turning the ball over and not getting yelled at by the end of the day. It is hard to stay motivated in a sport you love with a coach like Childs."
"Where do I begin. After my 4 years at York College I never thought a 40 year old crybaby existed until I met Brandon "Phony" Childs. A slogan on the York Men's lacrosse team is Serve, Work, Humble. But in reality it should be Cheap, Lying, Buffoon because these three words sum up my entire collegiate experience. From the food he provides, to how he acts at practice, and the way he speaks to parents he should be granted with and Emmy for the outstanding performance he gives from his many split personalities. The most embarrassing part of it all is the end of the year banquet when he crys and crys and crys and oop not done yet and crys. Not sure if he needs a bottle or his diaper changed because he is one big baby. "
"The person you meet during the recruiting process who appears to be the kindest caring man who appears to truely care about the well being of his players is NOT really who he is, but is actually the complete opposite. His words do not match his actions and is downright demeaning to his players. Over recruiting happens which leads to unfortunate disappointment. "
"The turf stadium and locker rooms for soccer are well-kept and quite nice for a DIII school. This will definitely increase a recruit's likelihood of coming here with soccer facilities like these."
"I was recruited by Coach Scheffey and I believe he has the qualities to be a good coach. He was a great recruiter and was responsive to my emails. He answered any questions or concerns about York and although I didn't attend the school I believe he has the potential to be a good leader."
"Coach Muston is so dedicated to her players and the program at York College. She has built the program from the ground up. She values the success of her players on and off the field and everything she does focuses to develop them into better players and people. "
"Coach Petteys appears to be very intimidating at a glance but after a conversation you can be talking for hours! She is very knowledgeable and inspirational about life and the game. She has very high expectations for you so you gotta stay on top of your game and academics! Do not get on her radar! Overall she wants the best for her team!"
"Greg is a really great coach, he is very supportive to all of his swimmers and wants us to be the best athlete possible. He's a hardcore coach but that's why his swimmers are amazing. "
