"While I only played under Courtney for a brief stint, I got a good sense of her right from the beginning. She did pick favorites almost immediately and brushed off the rest as it the team only consisted of those people. She was VERY intense and demanded perfection almost all the time even when there were fitness tests that were built for us to fail. She dug a bit to deep into our personal lives and played the game of wanting to be one of the "girls" as in knowing who we hung out with on the weekends (even though what we were doing was all totally fine) and drama instead of focusing on what we were doing on the field to also determine who she liked. There was a snitching culture as well that she created within the team and caused friction between players. Overall, I think she wanted to be a good coach and gave good technical feedback but struggled to unite and lead a team to success. Also – I heard from teammates after I left that the academic office offered players to keep their scholarships without having to play because people talked about how negatively this coach and the culture was for their mental health and well being... yikes"

"When you have an end of the year meeting with the AD that is voluntary, the entire team shows up and those who have already completed their time, all to express how poor this staff is and the AD ignores it and ignores pure mental abuse, says it all. Players pleading for a change but didn’t go to the the paper like Akron team and others have but should have. They eventually will and be a terrible stain on the school. Maybe the players should just release the recording of the meeting (which Ohio law allows to be done) Should have never let Ben leave. She can’t coach and the new assistant is a joke. Players who leave excel at better programs but I saw teamates quit instead because they love their friends too much to leave. Only success has been from team bonding and ignoring the staff. No development. Kick and run. Be the most physical. The entire conference and surrounding clubs all know it is a joke which is why they rarely get anyone local. "

"Everything the previous rating said and more is true She forces players to play hurt and manipulates them emotionally. Has zero knowledge of exercise science and doesn’t listen to strength and conditioning staff. Runs players into the ground. Even the starters. Players leave and are shocked when it isn’t the same thing and that programs really do exist that don’t treat people this way. Throws fits and attacks players individually. Doesn’t matter how good you are. The issues are too numerous to list and very detailed accounts have been shared repeatedly with the AD office. Even when specific details are shared by the entire team it is ignored. Players should get the media involved. The stories make the Akron situation seem mild. This will eventually blow up and AD will act like they had no idea which is a lie Having a high standard and expecting greatness out of athletes should not be an excuse for treatment that would not be allowed in any other profession."

"Dictator style of coaching. Dishonest and forces players to play hurt. Threatens pulling scholarships, punitive running, and is protected by the athletic administration. "
