"Coach Raba is an outstanding coach who truly cares about his players. He is an incredible mentor and excels in his communication. The effort he puts into building relationships with each of his players throughout the year is remarkable. I’m constantly amazed at how he manages his time to make every player feel valued and understand the importance of their role. You truly can’t pay this man enough money for the return he has on player development as well as so many of our alarms go on to be extremely successful later on in life. Year in and year out he seems to have that magic touch of bringing in the right types of players that was succeeded at Wesleyan. Not only does he develop great athletes, but more importantly, he helps shape outstanding individuals who leave Wesleyan ready to succeed in life. His consistency in messaging, regardless of the team’s success, is unmatched. During my time at Wesleyan, even in challenging years, Coach Raba remained the most positive and supportive person on the field. Having been at Wesleyan for over 25 years, it’s amazing to see the deep connections and relationships he maintains with the entire team. He’s also done an excellent job of hiring assistant coaches over the years, creating a strong balance between long-term staff who bring loyalty and commitment and newer coaches who bring fresh perspectives. Despite some assistants being part-time, the dedication and love they show for the program make it feel like they’re full-time. We are incredibly fortunate to have a coach of his caliber at this level, especially considering his many responsibilities on campus beyond coaching. Anyone lucky enough to play under Coach Raba will undoubtedly have an unforgettable and positive experience."

"Dishonest, lack of caring, lack of and warped communication, zero leadership, soccer knowledge and bringing the team together. The communication there is, which is close to zero, is twisted and makes players think if they meet practice goals and expectations that they will see playing time- which doesn’t happen and with no communication. Misleads players, and the nepotism is infuriating, as well as family friends and the son’s roommate play. All get max playing time despite the performance or having to earn and put in time. He yells at players to shut up and to not speak to him. No open door policy. No trying to make a player, the team, the camaraderie better. Awful treatment of and ignoring of seniors is shocking and mean. Mentally messes with the boys and bullys them. And unfortunate because he has a great team of players and could be doing so well in the conference. Wesleyan is a great school otherwise, but if you are looking for a quality, fulfilling D3 soccer experience, I’d look elsewhere. "

"If you’re a brainwashable, naive international student, then you’ve probably been recruited by coach fried. He just wants to win, not develop players. He recruits international students, taking spots away from deserving tax-paying American students. He used to supply underage students with alcohol to host parties for recruits. He’s a Wall Street man - operating on the idea that student athletes are transactional - if you’re not performing, he’ll give your spot away without trying to help you. He doesn’t know how to coach, he just tries to recruit the best players (even if that means going to Hong Kong)… "

To this extent, visiting for the lacrosse team, and seeing what their team dynamic was like made me appreciate the school even more. For those who are wanting to find a mix of ivy-league academics, along with a socially engaging atmosphere shows why NESCAC schools have the best to offer. "

"I have had at least 10 lacrosse coaches over the years and Kim Williams is the best coach I’ve ever had, in any sport, ever. She coaches individually based on what each player needs and she turned a losing program to one of the best in the COUNTRY in about a year and a half. She is very strict and will work you hard but how she does it garners unconditional respect from the team. If I could go back, I’d love to be coached by Kim again. She’s truly the best and I do not say that lightly. "

He is a poor communicator and appears ti enjoy leaving people in the dark. His baseball IQ is questionable and is a proud person. So proud that he cannot fathom his own faults. He has his personal favorites and they can do no wrong. If you are not on his high list, he only sees the mistakes and discounts the good plays. "
